Losing Grandpa isn't quite as devastating as losing Dad. Grandpa was much older and had been very frail and ill for ages, and we knew it was only a matter of time before we lost him. We just had no idea how "soon" it would really be, and now that it is over, it's a bittersweet feeling. Death is a mercy for him, but he's our grandpa (and Mom's dad) and we will miss him.
I just hope Dad was part of the loving crowd on the other side. That's one of the things that kept all of this from being too depressing from the start, at least for me.
