Now, here's a scary scene that becomes even scarier as you grow up, and that's still toned down a great deal from the original fairy tale. Sheesh, talk about trying to scare 'em straight!
For all my love for Pinocchio, this is one aspect of the movie I do frown upon. The one scene I'm inclined to skip is the meeting with the Coachman at the tavern, and I find it quite sad and pathetic that we never get proper closure with Lampwick and the other boys turned donkeys.
What's worse, they somehow couldn't be bothered to fix this in the 2022 remake. The only difference is girls are included among the victims, and they're essentially doomed just for having a little too much fun at a cursed carnival. Really, Disney, what were you thinking?
